Hello lovelies!
First of all, I have to just shout out praise for the gift of this new amazing site!! How gorgeous is this place?!! My entry this week has to do with the gifts that God bestows on us and how I’m doing my best to not only accept them, but to shout for joy and praise Him for all that He does. In Matthew 7 verses 7 through 11, we hear how even though we may be covered in sin, we will still do our best for our children and how God does abundantly more for us than we could ever do for our children. The Lord is our heavenly Father. He will always provide for us, but even more so, He loves to show His love lavishly. He gives us our needs and in most cases, our wants also.
Have you ever stopped to think about the gifts that the Father gives us that don’t have to do with material things? The gifts that we can’t hold in our hands but hold deep down in our hearts? A friend of mine lost her son this week. He was in his twenties and had been sick for a long time but we were positive that the Lord would prevail and this young man would be healed. When it didn’t happen, I felt myself begin to fill with sorrow and doubt. I didn’t know what to say or how to put into words my sympathy for my friend and her family. Fear began to seep in. I found myself doubting if I would be able to keep my faith if I were in her shoes. If I lost my child, would I be able to stay firm in my belief?
After taking some time to sit in the Word, and in my Naptime Diaries Lent study, this set of verses really resonated with me. Sometimes the gifts that the Lord gives us are not tangible. Sometimes it’s the overwhelming peace that comes over us when something out of our control goes horribly wrong. Sometimes it’s the words that jump off the page and into our souls. He is our beloved Father, and He will always meet us right where we need Him. Jesus told us that we will meet tribulations in our lives (John 16:33) but that we must stay strong because He has overcome it all. He knows that there will be pain for us, but he Has also promised that for those who believe in Him, that he will never leave or forsake us. It is also written that He will be near to the brokenhearted and will save those with a crushed spirit (Psalm 34:18).
Loves, I ask that you please keep my friends in your thoughts and prayers. I pray that they feel the Lord’s presence more now than they ever have before. I pray that the Lord blesses them with His gifts of love and comfort.
