I’m not sure what the weather’s like where you live, but here in Indiana we experience the extremes of all the seasons. Summers get CRAZY hot– temps over 100 degrees with 98% humidity. In winter the air gets below 0 with a deadly wind chill factor. You wouldn’t think a state that’s known for it’s crops would have such radical climates! But we do. Mostly, I wish I lived somewhere with more stable weather with less humidity & less snow, but it’s different during the fall. In the fall, I really love living in Indiana. We have some of the most gorgeous autumns you’ve ever seen. I can’t imagine living somewhere with no changing foliage where you can’t layer up & wear boots. I look around & it just really makes me appreciate how lucky I am to experience all this beauty!

It’s about taking that inspiration to strengthen your faith in God. It’s about using your faith to inspire others to follow Him.
My page today is inspired by #8 on the list of journaling prompts from the kit: “A prayer of gratitude to Him for surrounding you with his beauty!” The scripture passage I illustrated is Psalm 147:7-9.
“Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; make melody to our God on the lyre! He covers the heavens with clouds; He prepares rain for the earth; He makes grass grow on the hills. He gives to the beasts their food & the young ravens that cry.”
What a fantastic reminder that the Lord is the one that hangs the clouds! He’s the one that decorates our trees & hills for autumn. He provides nuts & acorns for the little squirrels scurrying through the fallen leaves. He gives us autumn rain & puddles to stomp through. He’s responsible for the pumpkins & gourds & berry branches we use to deck out our houses for the fall. Every beautiful thing we take for granted in nature is placed on this canvas by Him!
It’s easy to walk from your front door to your car each day & not give a second thought to the beauty around you. But I challenge you to stop for a few seconds, breathe in the air of autumn, remember our Creator, & let Him inspire you!
