Hello, hello, friends! I am so excited to start this new series today! We wrapped up Worth the Wait in June, and I knew almost immediately where I wanted us to go next. Today we are jumping into Words of Worship, a new series based on familiar hymns, new songs of celebration, and all sorts of heart-cries in between.

I am almost constantly listening to music, and there have been many seasons where a particular song or playlist is on repeat and marks that time of my walk with the Lord. A song will come on the radio from seasons past and serve as an immediate reminder of His faithfulness or of a particular prayer we shared.

Today’s page was inspired by the song “Seasons Change” by Will Regan and the United Pursuit band. If you took my online workshop Celebrate Your Season you know that the idea of seasons has been big on my heart for many years. The Lord has really used them to show me that there is truly a time for everything under the sun and that even the hardest heart places only last for a time and are used for His purposes. When I was listening to “Seasons Change”, the lyrics struck me so deeply that I knew I had to share them.

 Though the music changes
And the songs we sing
We still lift our praises to our loving God and King

Though the seasons change
Your love remains
Your love remains

Lord you’ve been faithful to plant the seeds
And you will be faithful to always send your rain
Lord you’ve been faithful to plant the seeds
And you will be faithful to always send your rain

No matter what sort of season we are in, we can be sure that He is planting seeds and using our circumstances, prayers, songs of worship, and even our tears to water them to bring about His purposes. This song also reminded me of Deuteronomy 11, an encouragement straight from scripture.

“And if you will indeed obey my commandments that I command you today, to love the Lord your God, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul, He will give the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the later rain, that you may gather your grain and your wine and your oil. And he will give grass in your fields for your livestock, and you shall eat and be full.”

Deuteronomy 11: 13-15

In dry seasons where it feels like there isn’t much fruit, if we lean in and focus on His faithful love, pouring out our love for Him in return, we can be sure that He will be in the thick of it with us. Though seasons change, His love remains.

This really is just so beautiful! I’m wondering, and have been trying to find the answer for so long, was “worth the wait” and the new “words of worship” a series within Illustrated Faith? I’m interested in any information you can provide.
Thank you in advance. I look forward to seeing more posts in this new series!
    Sincerely,
    Laura

Worth the Wait was a series I wrote here on the blog, around two posts a month on the topic since November. This is the first in a new series called “Words of Worship” you’ll find here a few times a month, too.
