Happy Monday, friends! It’s been rather rainy in my neck of the woods, err…palm trees and what better way to warm up than with a hot coffee and my bible?! As I read this week’s devotional I was led to share this sweet story of how I’ve experienced the Holy Spirit in my life. This month’s devotional contributor says,
“The Holy Spirit has a way of helping the truth of the Word to sink in and stay there.”
I remember a few weeks back having a day filled with runaway thoughts. You know, when your mind idles as you’re driving or washing dishes and all of the sudden you think to yourself where did that thought come from?! No? Just me…? Ok. As I was driving to meet a friend for lunch I thought, enough is enough! I prayed on the spot asking for help. Almost immediately pieces of this verse popped into my head, and friends, I couldn’t get to a red light fast enough to look it up!
“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable- if anything is excellent or praiseworthy -think about such things.” -Philippians 4:8, NIV
I read it out loud, scribbled it on my hand and continued on my way to lunch. And so this week as soon as I read in the devotional, “…don’t be discouraged if you don’t memorize well, or don’t think you can remember what you read”, I said, yes! I know this to be true. I certainly didn’t have this verse memorized, but, with the Holy Spirit’s help, knew enough to look it up and use it in that particular moment. How awesome is the Spirit’s faithfulness?!
Even if you’re unsure of where to start, just open your bible and ask the Holy Spirit to read with you, “…the truth of God is likely to stick with you and help reshape your framework of understanding.”

Oh my gosh, love this post! Totally had an ah hah moment! When i read the bible i pray before hand to make sure im getting what i need for the day BUT never did i think it was from the Holy Spirit, so cool!!! I just love how your sensitive to that…his voice, wisper…awesome!
