It’s been a year since we re-worked our craft room and I think it is a great time to go in there; decide what is working and what just isn’t. One of the things my mother-in-law said (we share the space) is that she really needs to SEE product to be inspired. So we worked on taking things that would inspire her OUT of drawers and cabinets and put things like TOOLS etc behind closed doors.
We had these vintage pepsi crates that we REALLY wanted to use in a fun away (anywhere in our house) and one night at 3 a.m. (of course) I had this idea pop in my head that it might work PERFECTLY for 3×4 storage! I have built up a nice little collection form the
Studio Calico Project Life kits!! So I slipped a stack in there and saw they sat to low in the cubby to be able to flip through the cards. I asked my husband to cut a couple (ok, 12) lifters to sit in the bottom and bring the cards to the top a little more. SUPER easy solution, he just used some scrap wood from the garage and it took him less than 5 mins. and now the cards sit 2 inches higher and are PERFECT for this crate! The only thing I think you really have to be careful is that you make a tight enough fit that the cards won’t slip between your lifter and the crate, if you do have a little space but that side on the left and right of the cubby rather than the front. Hope that makes sense!
I love that I can just pull out this crate and have all my 3×4 journal cards in one space when I am working on my project life! So easy, and let’s face it…. ADORABLE!
We are talking about adorable storage solutions, purging, sorting, buying, inspiration and everything in-between over at Marcy Penner’s workspace! If you aren’t already a part of the class, we would love to have you!

I love it! I’ve been searching for the perfect vintage crate for so long! How fun!
Also, I love the new blog header!
That is a brilliant idea. I’m going to have to keep an eye out.
fab storage! Love it!!!!
Man, I better not let my wife or my girls see these! If they get started on Journal cards, I doubt one storage box, much less a vintage crate is going to suffice! They’re a pack of hoarders they are!
