A couple supplies mentioned in the video | Journaling Bible | This is Ground Mod | Liquitex Paint

As noted in the video I bring both my Mod and my Bible to church. In my Mod I have one note book for taking notes in church, and another just for random notes or ideas that may come up.  A lot of illustration ideas come up while listening to worship etc,  I am always jotting down ideas!

Let me know if this sparks any questions!!!

Goor morning Carisa!! :) Amazon, here it is!

Do you prep your pages with anything before you water color to avoid truly wetting the pages?
Or does the water really not bleed through?

And do you use acrylic paint on some pages? I can’t imagine that bleeding through – but you have to have some patience with the drying process. Right?

How inspiring that was…I think that starting a new Bible in a few months or so will be a wonderful adventure! Imagine revisiting the same verse in a new mindset or for a different reason you journaled it before. The multi-meaning of The Word would be so enlightening to me.

Yes!!! that is one of the reasons I love most about using the actual bible instead of an art journal. That parallel journaling is powerful!

The link to the resource for your supplies holder does not work? Is there another source or could you please let us know the name of your case? Thank you so much. LOVED the video.

Thank you for this Shanna! I’m completely new to this and am one of those people that can’t draw, but I can use stickers, stamps and journaling so I really appreciated your comment on that. I am curious about your tabs that stick up above the pages. Where do you get the actual tabs? And are most of them stuck on with washi tape? The one with the brad I’m assuming you made by adding the brad to the tab and then folding it over the page?

Thanks again! It is an exciting journey to dig into God’s word.

Hi there Jocelyn!!!! I use a lot of tab punches! Here is one I have! I use those with scrap paper and alpha stickers, word stickers or just write the title :)

  7. Jocelyn 9 years ago

Awesome! Thanks so much. I had no idea those even existed. Then you stick the tab on with a little washi tape? How would you put the tab on a paper clip? Would it be easy to do?

Hiya Christi!!! xoxo WELCOME!!! I covered them with a sticky back fabric and paper form Amy Tangerine, they don’t have them in their current line though :/

Hi there! Thank you so much for your video!! Loved it!
I was also curious about your bible cover process and was glad to see there were already some comments on here about it. I see that you used a sticky back fabric that is no longer available. I found this product online by coats & Clark called “phoomph for fabric!” Which can turn any fabric into sticky back fabric. I’d be curious to know if anyone one else in the illustrated faith community has tried this and if so how the results were. Let me know!
Here is a link to the product:
Coats Thread & Zippers Phoomph for Fabric, 9 by 12-Inch, Soft, White https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BFI9AIO/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_jzd7ub17E0QQV
        https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BFI9AIO/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_jzd7ub17E0QQV

And a video demo using it. Looks pretty simple:

Guessing it works w paper as well.

Thank you so much for sharing! I am just getting started with this! My question is about the cover. Do you have fabric or paper on the cover of your Bible?

    • Author

Both :) the Grey people is from Amy Tangerine as well as the black and white fabric :) They don’t have any in their current line but you can sometimes find them on etsy etc :)

I love this tour. :) I did the same kind of thing that other night with my husband’s aunt. She wanted to see all of the pages that I have done. It was really fun to show her and describe to her why I did what I did on each page. It would be great if we could see more videos of people doing this. It gives great inspiration!!

for the pages that you are finished with that are still a little sticky, rubbing beeswax over them helps keep them from sticking :]]

  20. I always thought it was larger bible! But it doesn’t seem to be much bigger than your hands! {Unless of course you have huge hands! LOL!} But seriously, it’s refreshing to know that people are working in smaller spaces than I thought!
