Tiffany Zajas | How to keep Bible art journaling simple | mixed media
When sitting down to do some bible journaling, it can often feel a little overwhelming. There are so many possibilities of products and methods to use, sometimes it’s hard to know where to start!
But please, don’t let that stop you. The purpose behind all of this is to connect with God’s Word–to really let it sink in by reflecting on it and using your creativity to express what His truth means to you.
Tiffany Zajas | How to keep Bible art journaling simple | mixed mediaI love using hand drawn illustrations and lettering in most of my pages. This is my go-to method when it comes to illustrating my faith. But sometimes, I just don’t have enough time for that. Sometimes, I would love to keep things a little more simple.
So, for this page…I did just that. I kept things simple. I grabbed a few tubes of Gouache paint, some alphabet stickers (these are the Big & Bold – Illustrated Faith by Bella Blvd), and my trusty black Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pen.

I quickly painted down a background, let it dry, placed the simple word “Blessed” down on the page using the alphas, and then did a little extra shading using my pen. This page took me about 10 minutes to create (with a few minutes of dry time in between). So easy!

Whatever may be overwhelming you–whether it be the thought of not having enough time, or not having the “right” supplies–don’t let that hold you back! Start right where you are, with the supplies you do have, and just keep things simple.

I love your art and easy-to-understand tutorials?

Do acrylics and/or gouache paints wrinkle Bible pages as watercolors do?

(I’m still waiting on my Bible to arrive via Amazon.)
