To encourage the younger members of the Journaling Bible community, each month we take a peek inside the Bible of Abigail Clone! Abigail is an energetic, artistic, & faithful 15-year-old sweetie that loves illustrating her faith & sharing the Word with others! She will be sharing projects created around common struggles that teens encounter at school & in their daily lives. With this, we hope to encourage young girls (& boys!) to get into their Bibles & share the lessons from the Word with their friends & family while expressing themselves artistically!

My prompt this month is Living Like Jesus. Oh my, that’s a deep thought & as I was studying for finals, I was thinking how in the world I was going to live up to that topic! I didn’t want to get the wrong message or take my thoughts the wrong way. But why was I thinking about this? I shouldn’t be stressing over something that I use to praise Him. That sure isn’t living like Jesus. So I took a step back & started where I normally start: looking up a Bible verse. I search my topic usually just to see what pops up & scroll until I find one that sticks out to me. Romans 8:28 was the choice! It says,

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

This verse (to me) talks about how if we love God & praise Him, things will turn out well. But we also need to use our purpose, & I think that’s where we can live like Jesus. I’m totally taking this my own way & there are so many other ways to live like Jesus but I’m going to focus on purpose. ;)

We all have a purpose! We could be healers like doctors or nurses, we could be friends, we could be teachers like family members or school teachers, we could be a servant, there to serve others in our community. We all have multiple purposes! God didn’t put us on this earth without one. He sees what we can do & sees how He can use us. Jesus had so many purposes! He shared His teachings, He healed, He guided, He lead, He died for us so that we can once again meet in heaven. Jesus had a purpose when he came here & we can live like Him if we can fulfill our own purpose for the Lord.

Like Romans 8:28 says, good things will happen if we love our God &  are called to our purpose. This summer let’s all live like Jesus by maybe doing something that will make God smile! I feel called to be there for my best friend while she & her family go through some rough times this summer. Find your purpose & live like Jesus!! <3
