This week I was finally able to dig into my Lists by Faith devotional book, & I think I’m in love. If you aren’t familiar with the setup of this latest devo, it’s a series of lists that you complete over a month ALL about your faith journey! I’m obsessed. I’ve always been a list girl. This book is like making a yummy sandwich of lists & faith– 2 of my favorite things! Inspiration overload!
One of the ways you can incorporate printables into your bible, devotionals, & journal pages is by letting the digital products inspire your themes & colors. To create the first page in my Lists by Faith book, I pulled colors & inspiration from the Hope Floats printable set. Those prints have the BEST colors, patterns, & textures! I printed them 9-up on a page so that I ended up with these cute little cards the perfect size for my fauxdori notebooks. Then I gathered up some fun paint colors that coordinated with the card I chose. Using the Lists by Faith coordinating stamp set, I mimicked the speckles you see on the Hope Floats printables as well!
Thanks to this beautiful digital set, I think scribbling with colored pencils in the corners is my new favorite “technique.” It was so fun & freeing! I pulled the idea from the edges of the card I added in my devo book. You could achieve the scribbles with a colored pencil like I did or even a crayon or gelato stick!
Using a printable product as inspiration for your pages can be a really healthy thing to do for your art process every once in awhile. Many of us concentrate SO much on the art side of illustrating our faith that the meditation side is sometimes overshadowed. Illustrating your faith is about BOTH! I think taking creative cues from inspiration pieces is a fabulous way to focus on the scripture side of your pages. It eliminates over-thinking in the “decorating” & your mind can take time to rest & really focus on the scripture passage. Letting your hands do the painting & focusing on your time with God is essential.
While I was painting the page, I took that time to reflect on my favorite women of the Bible. I reviewed stories in my head of the women I relate to & the women I admire. It had been a long time since I thought about a few of these women & what a spectacular reminder of girl power!? Using those printables to design my page really gave me extra time & brain power to focus on these amazing women!
I hope you all are having an amazing week & soaking up every creative moment you can!

Seeing this….well, I guess I will just have to get one – awesome job – thank you for sharing
I asked for the kit for Mother’s Day and it has already come. I said I wouldn’t open it until Mother’s Day, but that may be hard! :)
