Stephanie Ackerman has become a quick friend of mine! She is someone I look up to and rely on to ask questions and guidance of! She is somehow both AMAZINGLY EXCITED AND MOTIVATED with with God is doing in our community while still being very tender with it! Please join me in welcoming Stephanie!!

Join Stephanie Ackerman as she flips through her bible and gives you some insight on how she goes about handlettering in her bible.

Thank you so much Stephanie! I love hearing how you decide what to put in your margins and seeing how God is so clearly working through you!

Thanks so much for sharing this! It’s given me a lot of confidence to dive into my journaling Bible. It should be arriving soon and I’m very excited to begin my journey into God’s Word with the gifts he’s given me. It’s so funny that she’s got tabs. I make tabs like this for my planners and I have so much paper scraps to make tons! This whole video was a great inspiration! God bless and thanks again! ^_^

Hi! Thanks for providing the link in the post…I was wondering though, the ESV bible in the link has lines in the margins and it didn’t look as though Stephanie’s did. Is there a version that doesn’t have the pre-printed lines?

Awesome video, Stephanie! Thanks for the inspiration and wonderful tips on hand lettering. Hand lettering is one of my favorite and natural elements that I use most often. So happy to see other people incorporate their own writing into their journaling, too!

Thank you. I have been very reluctant to start in my bible. The suggestion about using a moleskine is great. Thanks for demystifying it!

Stephanie – THANK YOU so very much for showing me how you hand letter. I am so inspired by your pages. Hand lettering is my preferred style of art journaling and I have been struggling with how to do it in my bible. You have given me the confidence to try and after watching your video I went on and did a doodle on a title page for practice and then jumped in and did two pages in the actual books and I really like how they turned out. This has restored my confidence in my journaling as I seemed to have been lost previously because I was trying to copy other people’s styles – when I had my own style all of the time through my hand writing. Thanks again! I am hooked!

Thank you for sharing this! I have fallen in love with all that I have seen through the IG community! I am so very intimidated in starting, and get a bit more courage each time I see such beautiful posts. Today I got up the nerve to crack it open because I saw all the extras that were in it and now I’m disappointed. I just realized the Journaling Bible I purchased (same publisher), that looks just like this one, is missing all those amazing extras like “What the Bible says about…”, “What the Bible is About”, “God’s Plan to Save”, and so on. I wonder why they decided to take that out with the version I have. If you are looking at getting a Journal Bible, use the link she offers above.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. This was more than empowering. As someone that is not naturally artistic or creative this was freeing to watch and learn.

thank you so much for sharing your process. I have been so inspired by you and shanna. also, a helpful tip for erasing is using a plastic eraser. It erases easier. I believe stadler has one and sometimes, you can find cheap plastic erasers at target and staples. God bless you for sharing your gift of art.

After you draw the lines to add more depth do you color those sections in with your pen?
