Worship. What does it mean to you?

How do you worship God in your everyday life, friend? This time last year, I was thinking about all of the possibilities that a brand-new year holds. I was contemplating all of the ways that I hoped to abide in the Lord and allow Him to use me in the months ahead. There’s just something so invigorating and inspiring about a new year, isn’t there? Now is the perfect time to reflect on the previous year and make changes for the year ahead. It’s time to focus on filling our days with as much worship for God as we can. That’s what this devotional is all about – inspiring you to use your life in all of the ways to worship God who is absolutely worthy of worship! In John 4:24 it says, “God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth. So let’s begin by breaking down just what it means to worship God in”spirit and in truth.” To worship God in spirit means to come with an open heart toward God with love and intention. It’s the Holy Spirit within us guiding us and awakening us to marvel at His power, splendor, and love. It’s wholehearted admiration from within us for God. To worship in truth is a reminder that worship is not meant to be formed by what feels good, but by the light of what is true. Worship to God should be founded in doctrine and not just done with your lips, but with your heart (Matthew 15:7-9). Worshiping in truth is founded in God’s Truth, which is His Word.
