The Bible. It is known as the Word of God, Scripture, the Good Book. I fully believe that God inspired the writers of this amazing book. But you know what? It’s written by people, about people and for people. Just like you and me. And just like each of us is unique, the way we interact with the Bible is different. The stories that affect us, the characters that inspire us, the words that we ponder, the prayers we pray and the way God reveals Himself differs from person to person. Now, I am not a seminary graduate, nor do I preach from a pulpit (probably just like you!), but I do know that God meets me within these pages.
One of the things I have been marinating on lately is God’s hospitality (that yellow front door with the bouganvilla is the vision I’m carrying of it). He knows each one of us inside and out, and welcomes us in such personal ways. Psalm 19 is such a wonderful chapter of imagery. It points to nature showcasing the character of God. I just love those big skies and pretty sunsets that the Lord shows off his beauty with. And isn’t the Lord so kind, that He tries to get our attention with buttercups and pansies instead of lightning bolts and calamities? I challenge you to be on the lookout for God’s strategic hospitality in your own life!
