Life has a way of making me anxious. Sometimes I think that our modern culture and the way it values being a spectator rather than a participant is making me more anxious and stressed. I often turn to Philippians 4 during these times where Pauls tells me to pray, ask God for help, and thank Him for the big things, the little things, and everything in between. I must pay attention in order to actually see it all. When I take notice of God in my days, truly seeing Him in the here and now, I find gratitude. I am on a mission to rewire my brain to be more in tune with what the Lord is doing. One of the things that I have learned in a whole new way this year by paying attention during some hard times is that the Lord’s ways are not mine. He is sovereign and makes different decisions. But (yet) He sprinkles miracles all throughout my life – sometimes they are just a little less predictable than others. Even when prickly, miracles, both small and large, are proof of the Lord!
