Description

“I don’t know about you, but I want to stand upright when howling storms come, leaning into the peace of Christ. I want to not be concerned with the earth falling down around me. I want to know without a shadow of a doubt that God has a plan. I want peace and joy regardless of my circumstances. But all too often, I fall under pressure. After a recent bout of worry and distrust, I found myself thinking, “how can this be avoided in the future?” And the answer the Lord gave: tend your roots. Strong roots grow undetected and unnoticed until they’re needed the most. A growing, vibrant faith is built in the dark, lonely times. Paying attention to our roots means anchoring to the love of Christ as we go throughout our days. As Colossians 2:7 says, “Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.” -Brianna Showalter
