The Bible frequently uses the plant world to help us visualize the meanings of its teachings. I love the picture of a strong tree with deep roots, planted near streams of water as a portrayal of the strength and living water we receive when we sink our spiritual roots deep into the character and sovereignty of God. He is trustworthy and never fails us. He is worthy of sinking our roots into!
