“As a kid, I loved to make forts: sometimes elaborate blanket forts in the living room, sometimes built far up in a tree, and sometimes just a flashlight under the covers at night. The common denominator was always that cozy, snug feeling of being safe within a cocoon. Now that I’m an adult, that feeling of safety is more often accessed through prayer and solitude (though a comfy blanket and a sweet little space of my own are definitely bonuses!). Over and over in Scriptures, the Lord reminds us of His priority for our refuge within Him. He wants us to run to Him, to dive beneath the blanket of his protection, to climb up into the shelter of His hand. When we turn to Him, He will most definitely meet us with open arms.” -Brianna Showalter
