Heart Check Bible Journaling Kit

hey y’all –  I’m beyond excited to be a guest contributor for Illustrated Faith! For years, I have admired creative Bible journaling from afar on Instagram; only occasionally participating in giveaways and commenting on the beautiful journaling shared by all. But the summer I turned 50, I decided life was too short for me to be on the sidelines and “closet” crafting in my Bible. This is something I love. It is how I interact with God. It is what stills me, calms me, keeps me going, and accepts me, flaws and all. The community of women that I have “friended” over the last few years is nothing short of amazing! Jesus’s love shines through in their work. It is my full desire for this devotional to do the same. If I fail to express that, please forgive me. For each of us comes with her own past and present challenges that brings understanding. 2 Timothy 3:16 tells us that the Word of God is useful for instruction, for conviction, for correction and training! So, as we look at these snippets of Biblical women, you will see how even in the midst of their shortcomings, God’s loving character shines through. May it reveal what your heart needs to grow in an abundant healthy walk with Christ. On the next page you will see the overall theme verse for this devotional. During our first week, we will dissect the verse by searching for keywords, identifying historical context, and looking up different translations and cross-references. My goal is for you to find new connections and truths in scriptures you may have read many times before. Each week I have provided a new scripture for us to dissect together.
