OCTOBER IS HERE! The month of vibrant pink and blue sunsets, misty fog that blankets the earth, warm sunshine and cool autumn breezes, pumpkins in the patch and on front porches, the remaining rows of sunflowers and cosmos in the garden, and don’t even get me started on the LEAVES! Leaves in hues of yellow, orange, and red; the way the sunlight illuminates them; the way they dance in the wind, the way they become earth’s confetti after they have fallen from the tree, the way they softly crunch beneath walking feet. I am forever seeing the Lord and His magnificence, beauty, and creativity in the natural world. I love the art of noticing. Are you a noticer too? The word ‘notice can be defined as: the act of noting or observing; respectful attention or consideration. I find God in this art and practice of noticing—in other words— when I pay attention to the beauty that He has created. This has a way of continually turning the posture of my heart towards gratitude, thanksgiving, and praise. The moment I step outside, He is magnified. The vastness of the skies and the beauty of the landscape remind me that He is everlasting, limitless, almighty, and so, so good. I would love to invite you to join me in noticing this month.
