Hiya Illustrated Faith friends! I hope that you have been enjoying the online summer camp going on at Illustrated Faith right now called – Revival camp! I got so excited when I saw this course and knew that I needed to jump in right away. The idea of going to “camp for Jesus” brought me back instantly to memories of going to a christian bible camp when I was in my teens. Sleeping in cabins at night, keeping busy during the day – zip lining, tug-o-war, field days and more! And of course plenty of prayer, bible classes spiritual time and services. How I have longed to go back there and have that experience all over again!
Revival camp is an online class where you can have the experience of enjoying summer camp at home! It is a 12 week course that you can take at your own pace. Each week you will receive a new prompt. For this post I am working in week 1 with the prompt “ignite”, this prompt is meant to spark your passions and it is the perfect way to start off bible camp! Do you know what you are truly passionate about? I do! For me it is art. Clear and simple, I’ve known this since I was a little girl, for me it has always been art, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t get stuck and struggle sometimes. This message really resonated with me at a time when I was feeling vulnerable and questioning my place within the art community. Working through the devotional and praying about it helped me get a fresh point of view on the subject.
In the devotional Tonya Hamilton asks the readers to contemplate what their passions are and to pray, listen and hear our callings. This prompted me to spend time thinking about my calling and how God would like to use me. I jotted down a few notes to myself on the left side of my “ignite” page as a reminder to myself to pray, pray, pray and to remain focused. I also highlighted part of the message and stamped “use me” and remember across the page.
On the right side of my devotional page I applied watercolor paints. Once they dried I added some of my favorite printables from class that matched the message and spoke to me. I used stamps and printables to convey my message about my passion. These pages will serve as a reminder for days to come to follow my dreams and that my dreams have worth.
