In Valerie Wiener’s devotional “Beautiful” she touched on Psalm 45 and allowing the King to be enthralled by your beauty. This was not a verse I was very familiar with so I read it in the New Living Translation and then in The Message too and wham! The Message version said, “Be here – The King is wild for you.” To me that means, forget the past, leave it behind, you are made new, give yourself entirely to Him, all your love and faithfulness and He will be secure in His affection for you. As Valerie goes on to say, it is not your outward beauty He is attracted to but rather the inward beauty of your heart.
This Psalm really is a beautiful love story, a marriage between the King of Kings and His church – that is all Christians – that is you! Please don’t be fooled to think the King is enthralled with some far off unnamed princess. No, He greatly desires (insert your name here). I was tempted to paint up some pretty wedding scene to go along with this but that word: WILD. It and Shelby Maryann’s traceables in the Print and Pray shop just screamed to go together. I mixed some of her pieces together and scaled some down to give it my own spin. Of course I finished it off with the bold proclamation that The King is wild for ME. Say that to yourself. Believe it. and have an awesome day!
