Is everyone loving the Through Christ devotional kit as much as I am? Most likely you are, because it’s beautiful to look at and because it’s written beautifully.
Day 2 spoke to me recently, particularly the line that says, “The Bible does not promise that bad things will not happen to Christians. Everyone has pain and trials.”
It’s not as if I’m going through anything particularly bad right now, but I, like many of you, have a lot on my plate and my mind seems like it’s always running in a lot of different directions. I may have overcommitted myself this season; I may have said ‘yes’ a few too many times, and it may be starting to wear me down.
But listen — even if you’re not currently going through a particularly devastating pain or trial, you, like me, may still have found yourself in a tough spot. And while that tough spot may pale in comparison to some of the other hardships people are facing in this world, God still cares. There’s no need to minimize your tough spot — God doesn’t minimize it! He stands in your corner. He’s got your back, and when the time comes, He steps in and fights for you. He protects you.
So today I want to encourage you to call out to God about that tough spot you may be in, even if it seems insignificant. Tell Him all about the struggles you’re facing, no matter how relatively big or small they seem to be, and ask for peace, direction, hope, joy, or whatever it is you’re needing in this particular season!
Because remember my friends, through Christ you have strength for ALL OF IT — strength not only for the big, bad, scary trials, but for the relatively smaller, daily struggles as well.
