You know I have been waiting for this one! Thanks so much for sharing. Beautiful work as always, Shanna :)
Thank you for this video! Love the page- so cheerful and free!
I love this video, well I love all of your videos! I liked seeing the process with the paint. i bought some liquitex heavy body paint and put some on a page in my Bible. It was too dark. I am glad you showed how you did it! Thanks!!
Love these process videos-thanks so much
I knew you used a pen for the word JOY! I love it! It does look really professional. I actually thought it was a stamp. Great job and love the message and color palette.
Hi Shanna,
I have used paint in my bible a few times now … and I always find I have trouble writing over the paint. Do you have a pen suggestion? I dont want to continue to ruin my nice pens! :) But want to continue to write and draw over the paint. Thanks!
Yes!! The copic pigment liner or the Staetdler pigment liner. Make sure your paint is dry 100% first :)
Love this video! So much insight. Do you have a hardback or soft back bible? Did you decorate your covers as well?
Thanks!
I have a hardback and I used sticky back scrapbooking paper to cover it as well as sticky back fabric. Thank you!!
Does the big brush marker bleed through? I love it!
Nope, thus my love affair <3
I have never seen your work before. LOVE this idea of “scrapbooking” my bible. I am forever writing notes, and highlighting and underlining in my bible. Does all of this work with the thin transparent pages of the bible? Thanks for sharing this!
Hi there Laura!! I love it when people have the light bulb moment!!! Yes, it does. You do have to be careful though, I have several posts on which products work well in the resource section of the blog:)
I’ve watched this video 3 times now!!! ahhh mixed media is so beautiful! Can’t wait to try my hand at it! I accidentally bought the basics liquitex because it was on sale at michaels. I’m wondering will it still work in my bible?
Dani, I don’t have that kind, I am sure it will work but I would try it on a test page on the back of your bible if you are worried about it :) THANKS LOVE!!!
I enjoyed your presenting style very much… I like the confidence you have working too. Jury’s still out about doing this, but I’m wondering ;)
I just discovered illustrated faith and absolutely fell in love with it. Since I am just not stumbling upon this, I’m not sure if you’ve already been asked this, but: how did you recover your bible?
Love your fun illustrations!
Hi there Jessy and WELCOME!!!! :) I used a sticky back fabric and paper from Amy Tangerine and American Crafts :)
Shanna I LOVE this! Thank you for taking the time for the process videos. I see all these pages that look so lovely but don’t even know where to start and you show simple but beautiful methods. Thank you thank you thank you!!!
Hey, Shanna! I just found IF not too long ago and I’m SO excited. I started doodling and journaling during church and felt weird about it…until just recently. ;) I’m so excited there’s a community of people who embrace this!
So, I was thinking….
I make stencils, and I would love to make one with different kinds of ampersands for you, just for fun. If you’re interested, I’d love to send you one. Just lmk. Fondly, Tami
YOU ARE SO SWEET!!!! I would love that! My email is shannanoel@gmail.com thank yoU!
