What are some things you pray and ask God about? I like to talk to God about my day, I pray for family, friends, for situations, things I’m worried about, prayers of thankfulness, all sorts of things. I’m so glad that Jesus wants us to bring our burdens to Him, and that nothing is too small!
Knowing I can bring my concerns to the Lord makes my heart happy. Instead of carrying around a bundle of worries, I can cast all my cares on Him. The Lord has been teaching me about how much He loves us and wants us to depend on Him. Just like I go to Him with my troubles, I can also ask Him for wisdom. Last week something happened that I was completely clueless about. The situation hit me so hard, and I was dismayed. What to do next… Should I internet search it? (I did) Should I read books? Ask for advice? Probably a good plan, but then I spotted something on my desk.
I had just printed out a digital set from the Print & Pray Shop called Wise One by Emily Karwoski, and the cute owls popped out at me. “Whooo is wise? God alone!” That’s what was missing – of course – I can ask God for wisdom! It says in James 1:5, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” (NIV)
I’m going to keep asking God for wisdom. I’ve written a prayer on my page and in today’s entry I’m journaling in Romans 11:33, “Oh how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways!”
So much praise that we serve a God so rich in wisdom and knowledge AND he cares for us! Friends, this makes me so happy, even when circumstances come up that are too hard for me to handle or outside of my understanding, I can ask him for wisdom and depend on Him.
