Merry Christmas, friends! Our Light has come! This week I was inspired by Brave Little Taylor’s Print & Pray Shop set, Light of Life, to trace God’s faithfulness from Isaiah to John. After reading through all of the suggested passages from Taylor I chose to journal in John 12:46. In my interleaved journaling Bible I flipped to John,
“I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.”
Jesus said these words in Jerusalem to the still unbelieving Jews days before his crucifixion. Believe. I love how Taylor’s previous set BeLeaf, in which she unpacks biblical belief, helped inform this page too! As I made this page I thought briefly of my own experience in darkness and wanted to include a spot for a hidden pray under my journaling.
Instead of adhering the journaling spot to my page I backed it with a piece of Taylor’s coordinating patterned paper and added a strip of washi tape to make a hinge. This allows me to easily flip up the card and read the additional journaling.
I cut out three branches from Taylor’s set, each printed on clear sticker paper, and used those as places for my journaling, title and tab to rest.
Additionally, I adhered these cute and colorful hand drawn stars and stamped more stars using the Come and Carol stamp set. Since it’s Christmas I swapped out my tried and true black paint splatters for sparkly gold paint! Finally, I pulled out my study Bible to look up additional cross references. I chose to write put part of Isaiah 42:6-7 which points to Christ. I love noting connections from Old to New Testament!
And a date stamp finishes it off! Friends, I hope you have a merry Christmas celebrating the birth of our Savior, Jesus! Our Light has come!
Additional Supplies: Avery 8665 clear sticker paper | StazOn jet black ink | Heidi Swapp’s gold color shine (discontinued)
Such a beautiful well-balanced Page! Love the extra journaling you included for your cross-references! ???
