I am loving Stephanie Buice’s devotional kit, How He Loves Us.  Hope you don’t mind another post about it!  I just couldn’t help it!

On Day 6, Stephanie highlights one of my favorite scriptures in Luke 12.  She reminds us that our Father knows each one of us intimately.  A pretty big feat in human terms considering there are about 7.3 billion people on earth.  You see our Father is not bound by human limitations — in fact He knows each one of us so well that our names are engraved on His hand and even the hairs on our head are numbered!

Because He is such a good Father, He hears us when we cry and when we laugh.  He keeps track of all of our coming and going.  We are His sparrows.  Our value to Him infinite and His care of us continual.  When we are lost, He searches for us until we return home.    When we are hurting, He is right there, waiting for us to place our cares and tears into His hands.  He is our comfort and strength and He is always ready to listen to our hearts.  He is the good Father, faithful, true, and loving.

I adore this translation.  Let the truth of the words sink into your soul my friends.

Luke 12:6-7 The Voice

…because God cares for every little sparrow.  How much is a sparrow worth–don’t five of them sell for a few cents?  Since you are so much more precious to God than a thousand flocks of sparrows, and since God knows you in every detail–down to the number of hairs on your head at this moment–you can be secure and unafraid of any person, and you have nothing to fear from God either.

Let’s Journal truth

I wanted to keep my journaling from this devotional consistent, so I grabbed my Illustrated Faith stamp pads from the various devotional kits and the awesome letter stamps from Illustrated Faith.   It is helpful to lay out the arrangement on a separate pad first and test your stamps before moving to your Bible page.  I also arranged my stamp pads in the the order I wanted my letters to be colored.

I slipped the Bible journaling mat beneath my page so that I would have a firmer surface to stamp on and stamped away.

The best method I have found to ink my stamps is to place your acrylic block with the clear stamp adhered flat on the table (stamp up).  Next flip your ink pad upside down, and tap color onto the stamp from above.   The Illustrated Faith inks are soft and juicy with lots of color.  I found if I press the stamp down into the pad,  I get ink in areas I don’t want and it’s more uneven coverage.

Next I grabbed my favorite letter stickers, Tiny Text by Bella Blvd in black, and added Stephanie’s idea of One in a Billion.

I loved Stephanie’s art lines, so I stamped one below “in a billion”

I selected a few pieces from the kit for my tab and cut what I needed.

I used my favorite Faber-Castell Big Brush Pitt pens to highlight the scripture and adhered the tab to the top of my page.

Now, for those of you are super smart, you probably noticed my error!   I know it’s been bugging you through the whole post hasn’t it?

Yep, I spelled sparrow incorrectly!!!  Eeeek!  I would like to say I caught this at this point, but I didn’t.  I finished the whole page, edited my process pictures and then I realized, ooops…

Thankfully it was a quick fix and I had room to add the letter.  So I glad I don’t have to be perfect.  Plus it gave me the opportunity to add a pom pom clip!

We may be only one sparrow in a billion but our good Father loves us so!

I am so grateful.

Blessings and hugs friends.  You are loved!
