Beloved Illustrated Faith Family –
Have you ever started a journaling page based on one supply? I did today.
The new Illustrated Faith Brush Letter Stickers by Katy Girl Designs are so bold and beautiful. “Peacemaker” almost jumped off it’s backing into my hands! I thought, “Lord, what do you want to teach me about being a peacemaker for Your Kingdom?”
I started searching scripture and listening to the Lord’s still small voice. I knew God tells us to seek peace and pursue it (Psalm 34:14) but what else does He say about being a peacemaker?
And then I found a scripture I have never seen before –
Proverbs 12:20 ESV
Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil,
but those who plan peace have JOY.
and I love the Tree of Life Version
Deceit is in the heart of those who plot evil,
but those promoting shalom have JOY.
I love when His Word gives us a compare and contrast to articulate a point. Planning and seeking peace is SO different than setting out to deceive or to stir the waters of strife. It begins in the heart. It’s an intentional seeking and setting of our hearts on truth and it’s never motivated by self.
It’s moving toward Jesus and away from our flesh and encouraging people around us to do the same. It’s moving away from grumbling, complaining, blaming, entitlement, comparison, pride, shame, anger, and fear. It’s moving away from the “what about me” focus. It’s alignment and shelter in God’s truth, in Jesus — the Prince of Peace – and trusting Him.
The promise of setting peace as your focus and intention is a jewel of all jewels, JOY.
Peace + JOY
I’ll take that.
Let’s journal truth friends.

Adding Paint to my palette.
My goal is to mimic the pink paper in the background by making a dry brush mark area that I cover with words. I am not looking for an exact match, I just want a similar background for my sticker.
Picking up half pink and half white on my DRY brush.
Begin to sweep it over the margin.
Remember, we are working in layers. Don’t try to achieve perfection!
Last bit.
Happy with the mess!
Quick dry with a heat tool.
Close up.
Time for words. I am using Dr. Martin’s Bleed Proof White and a small cheap round craft brush.
I am just writing words that come to my heart as I ponder the scripture.
Since I used a dry brush for the words too, the words have a feathery look to them. I decided I wanted the words to blend into the background and be more watercolor looking. So I grabbed some water and went over each word with plain clean water. The words melted more into the background with the addition of water.
Another dry with the heat tool.
And I am ready for my beautiful brush script – Peacemaker.
Smoothing down the clear sticker with my paint card.
Oh my, LOVE!
Tabs. Always such a hard decision. I am selecting from the Illustrated Faith All the People All the Nations Ephemera.
Decision made! Do you ever want to just hold on to a ephemera piece because it needs to go on “the perfect page”? Eeeek. You might never use it — so I say — go for it.
Boxing my scripture.
The promise is JOY friends. Love using the enamel hearts for the letter “o”.
Date Stamp.

I decided to add the word peace above joy.
