I’m in love with all the plants this summer! I love them on my front porch on my deck, in the yard, everywhere. Except I really don’t have a green thumb. My hubby does, but i kill things. So i buy stuff, pot it, & then pass the baton over to him. He knows what needs fertilizer, sun vs. shade, & he actually remembers to water stuff. Whoops! It reminds me of how we have all these ideas & seeds that we plant & then we wait for God to grow them, let them take root, or maybe He even lets some of them die right? I’ve been dwelling on my relationship with Jesus & how i want my ideas & the things i devote my time to, to be rooted in Him & then He will give me the desires of my heart based on what His will is for my life! It’s comforting to know that He isn’t just telling us what to do, but He gently nudges us in that right direction… down that one path He knows is best for us. Thank you, Father!
So i was inspired to make a little mini garland for a small chippy table that’s on my front porch. All my happy succulents live there right now. My porch is covered, but this would hang nicely over the kitchen sink too. ♥ I grabbed a few things i had on hand in my studio : washi tapes, bakers twine, mini tiny clothespins, some cute fabric, & the clipart i cut out from my Rooted in Faith set in the Print & Pray Shop.
Start by cutting some twine to your desired length, then use the clothespins to clip the images to it. (Space them as desired.) Cut a few strips of washi & fold them over the twine creating little “flags” in between the clipart.
I cut a few short strips from the fabric & tied some to each end of the garland. Once you hang it up, you can slide things around to fluff it up a bit.
I did all of this in under 10 minutes & it’s a super cute little addition next to the rocking chair outside! I hope you have a summer full of sunshine & fun, but mostly that you’ll feel those roots digging deep down into your relationship with our Jesus!
xoxo Jaime
