Hey friends!! The summer has me loving on bright colors and fresh designs – how about you? The Print & Pray shop is FULL of lovelies that you can have in your hands immediately! Today I’m using the latest Beloved Society devotional along with some pieces from Shine! by Shawna Clingerman.
Beth talks about showing up and being available to receive the day. It speaks so loudly to me because I really want to make a point to notice more little things in my life. I am that girl who won’t sleep in planes or cars because I don’t want to miss anything! I want to pay attention. Look around. Be aware. Be thankful for it. Enjoy the day God has given me. The verse that really hits this home for me is Psalm 118:24.
This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
So often we just want to get right now over with. How often do we beg for bedtime, tomorrow, next year? How do we stay in the moment and praise God for whatever the day brings us? Friends, I do not have the answer. But I do know that even on hard days, we should be able to find ways to rejoice.
I find that I am drawn to my quiet mornings when I am up before the house – and the sun. I am truly able to start my day with God, with my thoughts and a strong iced tea. I have noticed since starting my days this way I am more alert and open. What do you think would make you more prepared for your day? Do you have a routine that helps you rise & shine?
For this bible page entry, I want to remind myself to REJOICE in each day. Without being cliche, I want to make the most out of the time God has given me with my family, in this season, with these opportunities. I do this by being productive, leaving my phone out of reach and speaking words of kindness. Sometimes I fail. Sometimes the phone doesn’t leave my hand. There are situations that make me think unkind thoughts. But there is always grace given. For that I am so thankful and rejoice in the day anyways!
How do you rejoice? How do you rise & shine? I’d love to know!
Talk to you soon friends!
