This morning I stood at the back door beside my oldest kiddo, bird watching. We spent months with no birds, and as a bird lover that made me so sad. Today there wasn’t one, but eight blue jays flying and landing and eating birdseed within our view. This hit me two-fold. One, what a good good Father He is, to care so much about what is so seemingly small, my desire to see pretty birds living and singing in my backyard. Two, what a good Father He is to make us each feel so individually loved.
I’ve been making my way through the How He Loves Us devo. It takes me so much longer than two weeks to work start to finish. I’m only on day 6, so timely. While I wasn’t pondering sparrows, I was definitely nearby in the animal kingdom pondering blue jays. All eight of them, so beautiful, so unique, and each one grabbing my attention. How much more is my God crazy about me? How much more is He hearing and noticing and loving me? I’m His one in a billion. So are you. As Steph said, “We are all His favorites.” That’s amazing!! No matter where you are in life today, know that you are treasured, known, and loved beyond measure.
