How He Loves, Day 1: Created to Praise Him

Stephanie knocked it out of the park with this devotional kit, friends. Let me tell ya. I first swooned over the cover and the colors, but then my heart pounded even more frantically when I read her words. Day 1 is titled “I Will Praise You!” and it leads us into Psalm 34:1

“I will extol the Lord at all times; His praise will always be on my lips.”

The Message paraphrasing puts it this way: “I bless God every chance I get; my lungs expand with His praise.”  In this first devotional, she goes on to point out that the gifts we have been given are not ultimately for our good or our glory, but for His. Man oh man did that hit me hard. I love my gifts, and I love that I get to be creative, but when it’s all about me, me, me, the fruit that comes doesn’t last.

When we think about our gifts in a way that can point back to Him, that’s where the fruit really is. That’s where true JOY resides! When I’m thriving in my gifts, I can feel my lungs expand, my heart fill to the brim, and I want praise to bubble out, not pride. Praise for my King, the ultimate Creator who created me.
