Each year I participate in Ali Edward’s “One Little Word” challenge. The process of choosing a word is always a thoughtful process and I find that usually the word ends up choosing me. My word for 2015 is “Shine.” I pray about my word and think about it for at least a month or two before I settle on a word to focus on for the following year. The word “shine” just kept coming to me, throwing itself at me to be honest. When I tell people about my goals in life “Shining with His Light,” is always at the top. I want to be that person that others look at and think, “I want what she has!” Now I don’t mean that in a material way. I want to exude Jesus, I want my love for Jesus and the love that he pours on me to just SHINE out of me in my daily life.
Focusing on the word shine has taught me to always focus on the positive and to constantly be thankful. In my conversations, I am singing God’s praises. Even when times are tough, scratch that, ESPECIALLY when times are tough, I am trying to be joyful. There are so many incredible gifts and blessings that I can be focusing on. My goal is to Shine with His Light, in the morning, when times are tough, with great joy, while I am waiting, and when I feel lost. This card that came with the new Worship devotional from Illustrated Faith pretty much summed it all up. This was the starting point of my page. I also loved using the little “Say It” stickers from the Genesis Kit to add phrases that remind me of my “One Little Word.”
What’s your word for this year? If you don’t have one, what do think it would be?

My word is brave & as I’ve been reading about different women in the Bible, I’ve really been concentrating on how they were brave in the midst of what they walked through. It has helped me walk through some tough stuff this year!
I love that word so much!! That was my word last year!!! xo
