A few weeks ago,my women’s Bible Study took a field trip to go see the movie, “War Room.” If you haven’t heard of it, you can see the trailer here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?
If you haven’t seen it yet, do it!! It was so good. This movie explore the power of prayer in every aspect of our life. Prayer is our most powerful weapon. This movie also goes along so well with Priscilla Shier’s Bible Study, The Armour of God. My Bible Study group is currently in the second week of this study and I am already seeing so many of the themes mirrored between it and the War Room movie.
With all of this said, I am finding new meaning to prayer. I am the type of pray-er, who literally prays all throughout my days. I speak to God as if He’s my BFF that I converse with all day long. I never really thought of prayer as a weapon. Ephesians 6:18 follows up the Full Armor of God with “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.” Prayer is the seventh weapon that God equips us with.
In our Bible Study, we are learning to create Prayer Strategies each week to keep on hand when the enemy tries to attack. These strategies are prayers that we have in place, constant and ready to use when faced with trials. It is essential that we put on the Whole Armor of God “daily,” especially as we pray strategic prayers in God’s kingdom. If you fight in prayer, you will obtain the victory!
I loved the “prayer closets” that were featured throughout the movie and decided to place my strategies in my own prayer closet that I could enter each day. I want to hang my prayer strategies in there, to pray over daily as I arm myself with Christ each morning. Do you have a “War Room” of your own? Do you have a prayer strategy? I would love to hear what you do to keep yourself armed and ready.
