Hello, Illustrated Faith friends! Today I’m sharing a page I put together using Elaine Davis’ new set in the Print & Pray Shop, Small Wonders. Getting started on a journaling page can be tricky. A few of my favorite ways to get going include journaling sermon notes, a favorite verse, a song. This digital set inspired today’s entry!
Psalm 33:5 says, “He loves whatever is just and good; the unfailing love of the LORD fills the earth.” Here in Oregon where I live, I see the Lord’s fingerprints all around me. I’m surrounded by the mountains, summer flowers, and hidden waterfalls. I recently visited the Midwest and saw the Lord’s handiwork there too – open fields, beautiful skies, and a giant horizon.
In her journaling set, Elaine wrote, “There’s not a person, place, thing, or idea known to us that God hasn’t touched with His own hand.” I love this! It reminds me that in all the beauty that I see, I can bring my praise back to my Creator. Not just admiring the beautiful lilies growing in my yard, but pointing it back to the Majestic Artist who created all things.
It brings me a bit of comfort to know that if I’m feeling a bit lonely or out of sorts, I can look outside (away from my phone) to see the Lord’s creation all around me. Surely being surrounded by His fingerprints shows me how near He really is! If he put so much thought into flowers, how much more does He love us?
This week, I will pay attention to the small wonders all around me, and give thanks to the Lord who created heaven and earth. I’m thankful for the exquisite design orchestrated in the simple things like a snail’s shell. Snails get such a beautiful shell and apparently there’s some pretty intricate geometry involved in that design. How much more can we trust Him to guide our lives?
