I love the fresh start of a new year! New goals, a new calendar, and endless possibilities. A fresh new 365 days to do anything. In previous years, I’ve started January with a bunch of goals and intentions. This year, I’m looking at what is most important to me, and putting those things first.
It’s pretty simple: what’s most important gets the most minutes. There are only so many minutes to spend every day, and the top things get the most time, and other less important things maybe fall off the to-do list. My journaling page for today echos this sentiment in my heart: You first, Lord. Because when I’m putting together my priorities, my relationship with the Lord is at the top!
I love that we can express our love and worship for our Creator right in our bible pages. What better way to document my faith intentions for the new year, than right in my bible? I started this journaling entry with Elaine Davis’ new digital kit, Go, Girl Go. One of the suggested verses was this passage in Exodus 13 where the Lord led the Israelites with a pillar of cloud or a pillar of fire. It says in verse 21, “The Lord went ahead of them.” He guided them, and did not remove the pillar of cloud or fire!
I thought this was a perfect place to document my faith priorities. The Lord went before them. Lord, please go before me. Arrange my footsteps. Light my path.
In 2018, I know there’s so much more to come and so many new things I want to get done and accomplish. But, You first, Lord. His ideas are so much better, anyway! I believe our amazing Creator has big plans for us, if we just trust Him. I bet these plans are bigger and more amazing than anything we can dream up!
You first, Lord! Let’s go!
