It’s hard to believe it’s been two weeks since attending the Influence Conference in Indianapolis and it’s been a whirlwind ever since. There was this one session though that I really felt God telling me I needed to go, despite the physical pain I was in.
Let’s be completely honest, LIFE IS HARD!!! I’ve been in physical pain, and dealing with a lot of anxiety and worry. I’ve been really going back to my notes from this one particular session a lot. I’m constantly reminding myself and “preaching to myself” God’s truths… the character of God, who I am in Christ, and His promises. She gave us a lot of scripture references so I have a feeling I’ll be Bible journaling a lot of them to really remind myself of these truths and be able to memorize and preach them to myself over and over again when these storms pop up in my life and I get overwhelmed.
She then ended with reading Psalm 103 to us. This has been what I have been meditating on the most the past two weeks… while meditating on it, I’ve been adding more and more paints and stamps and journaling and I’m falling in love with all the layering and additions each time. It reminds me that there are always going to be storms and we will be constantly learning from them and how cool it is to see layer and layer of new learnings and teachings each time and I can just add more and more, the more I learn from each of these storms and the more beautiful it becomes the more I layers I add.
Would you believe me if I told you that it started out as a dark magenta as the base? I can still see some of those first layers of illustrating my faith through the top layers.

Amazing Heather xx
So beautiful!
Heather, is the yellow paint the Liquitex BASICS and the side colors the Uni-posca paint markers? By the way, it looks great!
Yes and no, I’m out of town so I can’t look up the colors… but I generally use Cadmium Yellow Deep Hue, Light Portrait Pink, Quinacridone Magenta, and Bright Aqua Green… the blue I believe is actually a Tim Holtz Distress Paint in Peacock Feathers… the sides are a mixture of the Liquitex paints using a brush, the paint markers, and the gel pens… looking at it I think I also used a neon pink craft paint in the flowers too…. the insides of the crosses, I used the gel pens to color in the outline stamp. Hope that helps.
I love the look of this post! And I have to ask: where is that adorable white-with-gold-polka-dots bowl from?!
Beautiful job Heather!!
