Hi friends! I am so excited to be sharing a new way to display your memory verses! A while ago I stumbled on the Deuteronomy 6:6-9 verses that say, “These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them to your forehead. Write them on the doorframes of your house and on your gates.”
These verses spoke to me so dearly that I decided to make them our family’s verse. I have a five-year-old and a 2 1/2 year old, and I am doing my best to write God’s word on their hearts while they are young and little sponges. I realized how important it was for me to know these verses as well so that I can teach them to my children.
I decided that I could make a memory verse card that was both effective and fun and beautiful! So, I decided to use my love of papers, color, sewing and stamps to create something wonderful that I would love looking at while I was treasuring those words in my heart.
I gathered some of my favorites papers, Illustrated Faith tabs and stickers, and the absolutely fantastic stamp set from the Brave Devotionals.
Once I layered my papers, I glued and sewed them into place. I just love the texture it adds, and the detail of the loose string!!! Don’t think too much about this step! Have fun with the colors you love! Play around with placement, take a picture of the design (so you can remember exactly where you had everything!), and start sticking stuff down!!!
Next, I penciled in my memory verse (SO good, but SO long! Ha!) and finished it off with pen.
My last step was adding embellishments!!! Oh, what fun!!! I had so many fun stickers to choose from, but didn’t want to go too crazy!!!
As the verse says, God’s word should be talked about all the time, and be put everywhere to remind us of His faithfulness, majesty and great love!!! So, make beautiful creations shouting His words through your life! Post them on your microwave, in your car, on your bathroom mirror and your computer!!! Memorize His truths and talk about His goodness.

It would be wonderful to make one for each child and place in their room…a constant remembered as they grow up. Wish I was was walking closer to the Lord when my children were young. I envy all you young moms… In a good way.
Wonderful idea,Kelly! Taking our creative journaling outside of the pages to be that visual reminder and help as we memorize His Word in a fun and colorful way! also,, what a fantastic way to share Jesus with others as they notice these sprigs of goodness around our living spaces, in our cars…even on “the doorframes” of our homes! Thanks for sharing this idea with us!
That’s a good idea! I don’t have a journaling bible, I make things and tape them in mine. I could do this, too! Where did you get your Bible? It’s pretty.
This is just so beautiful!! Also, THAT verse!! So perfect and I am so glad that I saw this today, Thank you girl!!
