You know what I love? Color! Lots and lots of color. If you have ever seen just one of my projects, you’ll know that color is one of my love languages!
And you know what my biggest fear is? Going outside of my comfort zone. Raise your hand (or both) if you can totally relate to being super cozy in your box!
Well, God knows what we can and can’t handle. He loves to push me beyond what I am comfortable with and each time I grow a bit more. This project is no exception (He sure likes to find me where I live). This week we are featuring the new Illustrated Faith and Bella Blvd collection Faith>Fear. You see, it has no color. It’s a completely black & white color scheme. Which is awesome. But totally scary!
Until I started mixing color and adding my own! But first, the struggle!
I was so hesitant, if I’m being honest. I was stuck for quite a while.
Starting with a verse always works so I used the helpful verses on the back of the paper pieces and ran with Matthew 6:34:
Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
The fear of the unknown was getting the best of me and making me anxious. It was stifling me and keeping me from seeing past the lack of color. It was keeping me closed off in this dark black and white world.
But His grace is sufficient. He won’t judge my project or make me feel bad if I don’t like it. My faith in Him is bigger than my fear of this project. I had to shake it off and then asked…
You mean, I can add any colors I want?
Yep, it’s basically a new kit each time you dig in!
So I picked a couple of colors and dug through some more supplies to find just 1 item with that color. I challenged myself to just pick 1 accent piece and I would add all of my own color to the page.
I chose the turquoise crosses from the Basics Clear Cuts pad! Then I mixed up some watercolor to match, added in a contrasting & vibrant yellow and painted all the things!
It’s all a lesson, even the simplest art project. I didn’t think I could create something I was proud of when left with basically a blank canvas. There was no starting line so I had to create one – with His help.
How can we use our silly fears to grow our faith? How can we know He will take us by the hand and lead us in the little things and the big things? That’s faith in a nutshell, I guess. Trusting Him. The process. The result.
My prayer for you is that you can conquer a fear by simply knowing that your faith will crush it – because God is enough and He is sufficient!
Have a wonderful day, sweet friends!
Andrea =)
Love it! I just ordered this kit! ?
Way to step out of fear in faith!
