Hello Beloveds!
I’m so happy to hang out here today and share a fun little project with you guys. They’re word rocks, and super versatile. The sky is the limit here, so this is just a jumping off point. And bonus, it’s made from objects and art supplies you probably have laying around the house!
To start out, I chose what I wanted to go on each rock. I used pieces from Taylor’s latest (stinking adorable) kit,
Hello, Goodbye from the
Print & Pray Shop & cut out a few words that I wanted to use.
Next step is to do your rock background. For these I used a layer of acrylic paint, a few swipes of some pastel gelatos, a bit of copper leaf, and a touch of glitter. Let dry.
Next, take some Mod Podge and cover the front and back of your words, then paste on and let dry.
The last step to make them really durable– a spray of varnish. This really makes them last and they can even be outside if you like.
This project is so simple and versatile and my kids love to jump in and make them as well! I like to put them all over my house to remind me of different things. I also love to put them around town as encouragements to people that find them. I can’t wait to see what you guys make!
