Happy New Year, friends! For my first process video of the new year I shopped my stash and pulled out a few of my favorite Illustrated Faith products- paper pieces and alpha stickers! I’m also journaling a sweet reminder that seems to be popping up all over the place in my life lately.
Today I’m journaling the promise that we can have as much Jesus as we want alongside Mark 6:30-44. Here we see Jesus with his disciples wanting to steal away on a boat to a solitary place away from the crowds for some rest.
I don’t know about you, but I value my rest. I protect it as much as possible because I know that without proper rest I do not function well. But Jesus was a pretty popular guy and the crowds of people soon recognized him and ran ahead to where he and the disciples were headed. Jesus, fully human, is tired not even having a chance to eat. But, and here’s my favorite part,
“When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because thy were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things.” Mark 6:34, NIV
Jesus said no to himself to say yes to people that needed him. And later in verse 42 we see that he fed thousands until they were full! Aren’t you so glad that Jesus says “yes” to us when we want to spend time with him?! He is willing to give all of himself to us!
There are so many other places in the bible where we see this promise. In John 15 Jesus says if we remain in him he’ll remain (abide) in us too! And James 4:8 says if we draw near to God He will draw near to us! We are the ones who determine how much Jesus we have in our lives, and we can have as much as we want!
Thank you! I LOVE this!
Oh thank you, Marijo! <3
