Happy Monday! I am so excited to share today’s bible journaling process video with you- I’m working through the This Is Love devotional kit and journaling today in Romans 8:38-39. I had so much fun pulling bits from the You Are Loved collection by Bella Blvd for this entry- layering all the banners, people!
Anywho! Let’s get to the good stuff- Romans 8! For this entry I went a few verses back, to the beginning of the passage in verse 31. I won’t read it to you here, but would encourage you to go back and read it because- whoa man! It’ll make you want to pump your fist in the air shouting, “Yea, Jesus!!” His love is that good.
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”- Romans 8:38-39 (NIV)
When I read this verse I think about some of the things I had perceived keeping me from God’s love in the past. I think about the shame I let live with me long after my plea for forgiveness and surrender to Jesus. I think about the anxiety I resigned myself to bear because there it was night after night, shouting its lies at me. If only I had remembered that NOTHING could keep me from God’s love! That Jesus is interceding for us and no one can condemn us! But, if I had then I wouldn’t be here to encourage you today, right?
Friend, what are you ashamed of? It won’t separate you from God’s love in Christ Jesus. What are you afraid of? It doesn’t scare God and certainly can’t separate you from his love. No trouble or hardship or persecution can keep us from His love (verse 36). Overwhelming victory is ours through Christ who loved us! Yea, Jesus!!
