In her devotional 2020 Vision, Tiffani encourages us to use our Jesus vision in all areas of our journey this new year. Today I spent some time reflecting on what Jesus vision is. Tiffani directs us to the song Fix My Eyes from For King & Country and invites us to journal our favorite lyrics.
As the song goes, Jesus vision could look like choosing to stand firm on God’s promises even when our circumstances seem unsure at best; being others-focused and advocating for those who can’t advocate for themselves. Or giving of our resources-our time, finances and expertise- in a way that may seem counter-intuitive.
When this song first came out I listened to it on repeat! And for today’s project I was especially inspired by the repetition near the end of the song,
I’m fixing my eyes on you, on you -o-o-o
I’m fixing my eyes on you, on you -o-o-o
I translated that onto my page with colorful repetitive stamping using Elaine Davis’ Kiwi alpha stamp set. Once the base layer of stamping was complete, I swiped pink and white acrylic paint over parts of the background with a paint card. After the paint dried I then added pieces from Shawna Clingerman’s Print & Pray Shop set 2020 Word and added additional song lyrics. A few stamps from the kit and black paint splatters finished off my page.
My prayer for this new year is that our vision will reflect the One we follow and that others may see Him in us <3
