mixed media paper crafting art journal insert based on Deuteronomy 33:27 by Stephanie Buice

Hi friends! Stephanie here today sharing this bible journaling page I did about Deuteronomy 33:27. It’s such a beautiful verse full of power and encouragement that says this: ” The eternal God is your refuge, and his everlasting arms are under you. He drives out the enemy before you; he cries out ‘destroy them’.” Before Moses died, those were some of the words or blessings he gave to the people of Israel, I can only imagine how encouraging that was to them! I know that when I read it again the other day I felt so empowered because even today those words speak truth. They make me feel loved and protected, and I imagine as Moses spoke those words there were a ton of “Amen’s” coming from the crowd.

For this page I decided to use a painted background that I’ve been hanging on to for a bit. I used some of the Shimmerz Dazzlers mixed with some black acrylic paint to make my lines, so they have a bit of raised texture to them. I added the words of the verse with a mix of Illustrated Faith and Bella Blvd letter stickers, using the “Names of God” stamp for my “eternal”. The “everlasting” is simply written out on white cardstock and cut out.

For the bottom half of my page I decided to use some more fringe since I had fun playing with it on my last page. This time I added some paints to some deli paper and then cut it after it was dry, I like they lighter more airy look of that verses how heavy the cardstock fringe can look, this was so much more playful. I simply sewed some of the layers down and then used some skinny double sided adhesive for the top layers that were more visible.

After I got my fringe in place I added on my journaling. I didn’t want my strips flat against the page so I decided to staple them in place lifting them off the page a bit. Then I added in some enamel dots and some of black and white patterned paper from the new She Blooms collection.

My Journaling reads ” You are alone”, One of the biggest lies that the enemy tries to tell me when I’m feeling weak or vulnerable. In all honesty it really wasn’t that long ago that I used to fall for it time after time, but God is showing me to trust in His truth. I am never alone for He is my refuge.” This verse sends an arrow through my heart, I know God didn’t write it just for me but I’m sure He knew that I would need to hear them over and over again and I know I’m not alone on that. So in your deepest and darkest storms I encourage you to read it over and over until your heart believes it, “His everlasting arms are under you.” He’s got  you friend, forever and ever no matter what! (Insert big girly smile here, that makes me so happy!)

So before I lose you while I’m on my ” God loves you” soap box let me share the rest of my page with you, I’m almost done I promise ;)

The yellow ribbon tag I used for my Book name and number is from one of the previous monthly kits, and I saved it for the perfect page because I love how happy the yellow ribbon makes everything look. I layered on a few of the paper pieces then my stickers on top, easy peasy!

Well that’s it from me today, I pray that even if it’s just one person who needed to hear that today; that they will see this verse and feel loved and accepted with every hurt and every flaw, Jesus has got your back!

I love this community so much and I could never thank you guys for encouraging me with your posts and pages everyday, take care guys!

Steph.

Thanks for the heart felt share. I am not very open about sharing and I went to an art journaling class that I have attended a couple times. I shared my bible and the illustrated faith page. It was so freeing and I was again reminded that I am not alone in this. GOD is always with us!

Is that a tip in or blank page or did you just cover that page of print entirely? It is beautiful.
