Can you believe that kiddos are already heading back to school?! Where does the time go?? In today’s Bible journaling process video I’m going to hold onto summer for a bit longer with Shawna Clingerman’s Print & Pray Shop set Camp Kumbaya. Shawna’s new set is summer camp themed and adorable. When looking through her card set I was inspired to mix memory keeping and Bible journaling in the Illustrating Bible!
So many big kids and teens pack up and head off for church camp or sleep-away camp or scout camp in the summer and I’m sharing how you can create an interactive element in your Bible to hold those memories. Following the scripture prompts included with her set, I landed in Psalm 25:4-5.
Make me to know your ways, O Lord;
teach me your paths.
Lead me in your truth and teach me,
for you are the God of my salvation;
for you I wait all the day long.
While my little ones aren’t quite ready to head off for summer adventures of their own, I am choosing to include some fun photos of them and a prayer for guidance in my little booklet.
To hold the accordion booklet I took apart a library card pocket, measured it, and recreated my own pocket using Shawna’s coordinating patterned papers. (be sure to check out the process video for the measurements) I glued down the pocket in the margin of my Illustrating Bible, slipped in the booklet and added a large paper clip with additional ephemera to keep it all together.
Once the memory keeping portion was complete I added a title with stamps and alpha stickers, journaling lines with the journal crush stamp and adhered additional ephemera from Shawna’s set for decoration. And there you have it! A fun way to tuck away a piece of your heart in your Bible’s margins. <3
