Hello, friends!
I’m back again to share with you a very brief note about how God created you. And me. And everyone.
Our God is an awesome God, and we have been created IN HIS IMAGE. How crazy and amazing is that? It makes me feel at ease when I start to get into a really wild, sometimes scatter-brained creative groove, to think that God was most definitely feeling the same sort of exhilaration when He was forming and molding everything (Man!) together in the beginning.
He created us in His image, which is an incredible and beautiful thing, but He also created each of us wildly unique from one another. Even we creatives, who are so similar on so many levels, are also unique in the way we each create and interpret art.
As I was going through Day 9 of Illustrated Faith’s “Make It Count” devotional, I just felt so much joy! Reading and meditating on 1 Peter 4:10-11 really brings it home for me: we have been blessed to bless others. We have each been given our own, unique spiritual gifts in order that we may serve God by serving others.
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
1 Peter 4:10-11 ESV
As God’s created ones, and as Christ’s ambassadors, it is our responsibility (and joy and pleasure!) to use our gifts to share the beautiful truth of Jesus.
