Have you ever thought about where you fit in this world? In your community? In your family?

2 Timothy 1:7 talks about not having a timid spirit. So does that mean that we aren’t to be shy or reserved? What if I don’t like being the center of attention? What if I have a hard time striking up conversations with people that I don’t know well? I think it means that he did not create us to be in the shadows or hiding. He wants our spirit to show – whatever that spirit is meant to do. He wants your unique and special personality to shine! To shine for Him!

I love that the rest of the verse uses words like powerful, loving and self-controlled. A powerful spirit could be one that is a prayer warrior who quietly fights battles for others or a public figure who is constantly defending her faith. A loving person could express it outwardly with affections and another may keep it in but feel it just as much. They are all different and unique but have the same heart for God as the woman next to her.

But we still find ourselves wondering why we aren’t good at the thing she is good at. Don’t we? In some way, I think we all do this. For me, I am not the girl who is known for painting in my bible. It’s not where I’m comfortable and I look at all these amazing girls who just paint so effortlessly and wish it was more natural for me.

But I jumped out of my happy and comfortable box with a powerful spirit and made a little mess – with God as the focus. Because no matter what we’re doing – if we are focused on Him – then how can what we make NOT be awesome? I may have started with a timid spirit, but I think I became more powerful as I got into it.

This is all God wants, right? For each of us to seek Him and worship Him. Whether that is through song or prayer or in the pages of our bibles. God has not called us to be like everyone else. God has not called us to fit in. He wants each of us to feel unique and special. Don’t you agree?

Yes! It’s so easy to fall in to the comparison trap and to focus on all of the things, talents and giftings we don’t have rather than what we do have! Love this page! :D

I love this video and think it would be a great video for my daughter and I to do together but I can’t find where I can buy the stamp set. IS it here somewhere and I missed it?
