Print & Pray Hybrid Prayer Journal by Elaine Davis | Hope Blooms Here

Let’s talk prayer journals! How many of you keep one? I usually have at least one I’m working in at any given time. I love having a place to write out my prayers as well as document what’s happening in my life & how God is bringing me through it. You might be thinking, “Well isn’t that what Bible Journaling is for?” Yes! But for those things you really space to work through, it’s nice having fully blank pages for your canvas!

This prayer journal is specifically themed around our fertility story. I’ve been using the pages in here to document the process of our fertility treatments, our prayers, photos, & memorabilia. I used an inexpensive spiral bound sketchbook from the craft store. It cost maybe $5.00? It doesn’t have to be fancy or cost a lot! I love having a place for all of these prayers & memories that will become a keepsake for our baby someday! Some things I’ve included in the pages so far are: a business card from our fertility clinic, photos, cut outs from brochures, medication labels, & more. I think it really helps me to surround myself with these things to really focus my quiet time with the Lord & visualize the end result of these treatments!

The Print & Pray Shop gives me an infinite library of gorgeous artwork to use in this journal as well! I chose the set Everyday Overflow by Brianna Showalter to adorn this spread about the start of my injections. While I want to be as real & transparent about my feelings as possible in this book, I also want it to be an overall happy place– overflowing with joy & faith in our Lord! This printable set totally captures that & illustrates hope & love blooming from our everyday experiences.

These pages took no time at all because the stunning artwork by Brianna did all the hard work for me. All I did was spread some paint on & glue everything down. The beauty of this digital shop is that even if you don’t consider yourself an “artist,” (even though you ARE!) you can really pack punch with printables! All you have to do is cut them out & paste them down. Voila! I can’t let this journal get too complicated because I want to keep up with it. I don’t want it to feel like “work” or I won’t follow through. Using printables helps me make good on that promise to myself!

You should totally try grabbing a cheap notebook & creating a prayer journal for yourself! Create a space just for you that you can keep private & just cut & paste with reckless abandon. Then journal what’s on your heart! Stamp it with a date stamp & you’re golden! Prayer isn’t complicated, so your journal shouldn’t be either. ;)
