Jesus looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the offering box, and he saw a poor widow put in two small copper coins. And he said, “Truly, I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them. For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.”
Luke 21:1-4
Hi Lovelies!
I have been meditating on the Widows Offering mentioned in Mark Chapter 12 and here again in Luke 21. Have you been to rock bottom? Or maybe just been to the end of your rope? I have heard this saying before: “When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hold on.” It sounds like a nice saying, doesn’t it? I have tied many knots, and each one made me feel a bit stronger…for a moment. And then it would come unraveled. So I would tie another and the cycle would continue. You know what happened? Each time the knot came unraveled the rope became weaker. Friends, when we get to the end of the rope, we shouldn’t tie a knot! We should LET GO! Really! Give it to God and LET.IT.GO.
The Widow gave ALL she had. When we give everything we have, that is when God has us right where He wants us. If you have nothing left – you have HIM! You pray more, you study more and you rely more on The Living God. The Bible commands it. Give him your worries. (Psalm 55:22, 1 Peter 5:7) Commit your work to Him. (Proverbs 16:3, 1 Corinthians 10:31, Colossians 3:23) Build your house [family] on Him. (Psalm 127:1, Joshua 24:15, Matthew 7:24-29, Luke 6:48).
Leave your everything at the cross. He is waiting there to take the load and trade it for abundant blessings.
xoxo, Tai
