I want to show you how I created tabs for my Journaling Bible using the stamps from the Bloom Kit. I am using an old Tab punch that weighs about 50 pounds and is probably 9 years old, Black Archival Ink, patterned Project Life cards (because I have a TON and might as well use them) a glue stick and my stamp set from the Bloom Kit (currently sold out but will restock at the end of the month)

You can stamp on tabs a few ways. First, you can punch or cut out your tabs and then stamp onto them or you can stamp onto the patterned paper and then punch out the tabs after. Note: If you stamp first, make sure to flip your punch over so that you can see what you are punching.

Create several tabs while you have your punch out so that you have them ready for whenever you are creating in your Bible or journal.

stamps4

When are ready to adhere your tabs into your bible you can also do this two ways. If you stamp a word on it first before having a verse to attach it to, challenge yourself to find a passage in the Bible that pertains to the word. This may lead you to some verses that you have not read before. If you are working in the ESV Journaling Bible by Crossway, turn to page vii “What The Bible Says About..” and look up verses that coordinate with your word. Here is an example for the word PRAYER:

stamps5I found the following verse:

Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” Matthew 21:21-22 (NIV)

Here is another example using a tab that I stamped to read “His Love.” I placed this tab on the page with this verse:
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.” 1 Chronicles 16:34

stamps7

For this page I also doodled/lettered out the verse in the margin and used the tiny little heart stamp in the set to add just a little love to is (no pun intended!)

Here is a look at the finished margin.

Tips: If you do not have a Tab Punch, cut your own using patterned paper and a template or pattern. I am sure that there are several online OR just cut squares or rectangle of patterned paper, fold in half and use as tabs.

Tips: If you have several verses that you want to journal about and/or create around but do not have a bunch of time, consider going through and marking all of those verses with tabs so that when you do have a little more time, you can open up to where your tab is and create away!

    Thanks for these great ideas.
How do you adhere the tabs to the page? Glue stick? Double-sided tape? Will washi tape hold them?

I love the idea of this devotional. I have seen lots of post from women using it, but I can’t find it anywhere. How can I buy the bloom devotional?

These are so adorable…..Do you apply the tabs ie…Prayer, Gods Love…….only on the one page with the passage or will you add tabs to all the places with passages that speak of the same subject…..I can see this being A LOT tabs on my bible pages. Maybe even some back to back or several pages in a row.

I have been looking for weeks for this punch. Anything else I would buy requires additional purchases to make it work. Do you know where I could get a punch like this?
