Hi everyone! Stephanie here today to share my most recent entry in my bible. I have been reading a devotional called “A Confident Heart” by Renee Swope, and one of the very first verses that she wrote about really caught my attention. 1 Peter 2:9 reads:” But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.”
Iin her book she has it written like this “You are a chosen [Woman], a royal [priest], a holy [daughter], God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.” The translation she uses in her book is a little different than my NLT bible but it really brought so much more power to it than when I simply read it in my bible. I actually said the words “oh yeah, I am!” out loud when I read that verse in her book.
It was a great reminder to me that even in my doubt, I am so much more than I have broken myself down to be. I am a chosen woman, daughter to the King of kings, and so are you! We all doubt and have our moments, but it is so important that we remember who we are are where we come from. I know I don’t have the reminder of a shiny princess crown siting on top of my head when I look into the mirror, but deep down in my heart I know the greatest truth of all. I am His, His special possession. (Plus who needs a crown anyways!? They’re awkward and I don’t have anything fancy enough to wear with one ha!) So you, chosen daughter to THE KING; I pray over every woman who reads this, that she will know her true worth deep within her heart.
